Decisions, Decisions!

I have been investigating things to do on our free day with the help of the Weatherman in Belize. In case any of you don't know, the Weatherman is also the pastor of Sand Hill's Mt. Zion Church and president of the Belize MP Conference. Anyway we have come up with a couple of ideas and I need some feedback from the team members.

Option 1
Snorkeling on the Reef
Duration - 6 hours (all day)
Leaving from the dock at the Radisson on a guided tour.
Lunch/Drinks/Snacks Provided
Cost = @ $77.00 US

Option 2
Cave Tubing
Check out specifics at the website for Jaguar Paw Resort
They also have a separate page that outlines Rates for the all day trip.

Of course there is always Option 3 where you stay at the mission house and wait for us to get back and tell you what a great time you MISSED!

I need for the team members to let me know which trip they are interested in so that I can get an idea of how many might be going each direction. You can just let me know by email, or when I see you, or hit the comments button and shoot me a line (I will not publish the info).

Name Change!

Big Caddy Daddy has requested that we change his nickname to "Byrd", which is not near as cool a nickname if you ask me. It is easier to type though! So from here on, the guy in the picture with DCL will be known as Byrd.

Meet the Team - Installment #2

Brownie Boy and Hairdresser pose for a close up shot during last year's Blitz. Last year was BB's first trip and HD's 4th Blitz. Both are veterans of the San Lazaro Camp, but will be assisting at Progresso this year.

Here we go with Diet Coke Lady (I thought this was a good shot to explain her nickname) and Big Caddy Daddy (who knows where that came from). This was taken EARLY on Easter Morning. These two will finish up the team for Progresso. Again they are veterans of the San Lazaro Camp, DCL -3 years and BCD - 1 year.

Look out Progresso! This is an A#1 Team Coming your way!

Meet the Team! - Installment #1

This "Suspicious Looking Guy" is the Team Leader for Progresso this year! He is a veteran of the Blitz and a good source of information for anybody new. He earned his nickname from the frequency that customs officials both US and Belize snag him for questioning!
So all of you rookies who are concerned about getting questioned by customs, just make sure you hang close to this guy. They say One out of Three people appear suspicious - well he is the ONE!

All joking aside, I am excited to have SLG as a Team Leader this year. He is a wonderful resource to have on board!

Final Numbers!

OK. I have compiled the list of those most fortunate folks who will be going to Belize this year. Here are the final numbers that I will be making arrangements for! (Those of you who wish to go but have procrastinated - We will be happy to have you, but you are on your own for airline arrangements! The deadline for hotel arrangements is in June, so I can accomodate you there.)

Mississippi
Divide -1
Brookhaven-1
Vicksburg-5

Arkansas
Union-7

Alabama
Wimberly-4
Springfield-19

That is a total team of 37.

The closer it gets, the more excited I am that this will be a great year for these teams! What a privilege to be a member of God's Army! Please continue your prayers for these teams and the Blitz!

Holler Monkey!

The Belizean Jungles are full of Howler Monkeys that can roar just like the T-Rex on Jurrassic Park. We ran into a couple four years ago at the Lamanai Ruins. What a trip!

This picture is of a different animal - the South Alabama "Holler Monkey". More holler than Monkey! Although, she got further up the tree than most.

Applications?

Many of you have contacted me about getting an application to fill out so that I will have all of your pertinent information. At least one (bigcaddydaddy), I wrote the email address down at home and cannot remember the rest of it. Please if you need an application, reply to this post in the comments section below and send me your email address. It will not be posted to the site and I will be the only one to receive the information. I can then send you the application by email and you can mail it back to me.

May Day!!! May Day!!!!

Ok, folks! Today is the day to be makeing your decision about the trip! I need applications with names and passport numbers (as soon as you have it) PRONTO! I have to confirm reservation with the airlines in a few days and I have to have this information to reserve your seat. I do not have time to hunt everyone down individually so this is the last warning you will get!

Aside from the Arkansas folks, I have exactly 7 deposits paid. That is one person per village. Except 3 of those 7 are under the age of sixteen, soooo I don't think they can handle a village by themselves! As I have mentioned several times we have lots of people who SAY they are going, well this is where the rubber meets the road! Get off your cans and quit procrastinating! If I don't get this information SOON, one of two things will happen. Either you will be making your own travel arrangements (and that includes travel from the airport in Belize) or you will not make the trip. NOW, I know that Flo has begged and begged to get this information in the past, but I AIN'T GONNA DO IT! I don't have the time. Currently, my work load is backed up til after the Belize Trip and I have a minimum of 6 ballgames per week going until the middle of June. I want as many people as possible to go this year, so hurry up folks!

Also, I had no drawings turned in here at Springfield, so if any of the pastor's have had anything turned in to them, please forward those to me. We will be getting the t-shirts going this month also.
